LAIMAPOOL
Concept of the spa is almost a joke - the pool and the fence in one object. As a part of the environment design at the villa's backyard creates a playful mood and maximizes functionality around the main villa.
Certainly, a constructive and functional architectural object is the best part of the idea of how to improve the small backyard site of the house. The house is located in a beautiful area near the sea - Jurmala, Lielupe.
The object is located on the border with neighboring territory. In the beginning the area was supposed to have a high fence between two sections and cover a large open backyard terrace of the two level residential building. But during the design process and collaboration between the client and architect was found the better solution: the idea of a light glass pavilion with characteristic metal supporting structures and wooden platforms raised high above the ground. Consequently a patio with a cozy private space between the apartment building and the glass pavilion was formed.

The 42-meter-long light glass pavilion is located along the entire length of the site. The one of the walls is fully glazed and can be opened to the direction of the patio. The main function of the object is the pool or spa area. The pool can be used optionally both ways as outdoors and indoor facilities. And with a help of high-quality door opening mechanisms transformation can be done with little or no effort.
The pavilion is only 4.5 m wide, but contains a lot of function. A compact sauna, shower room and bathroom unit on the one side of the pool and the small apartments for guests on the other side. There is also tiny music studio with a fireplace and a small bar located in the centre of the pavilion inside the rotunda.
As the continuation and part of the landscaping design an outdoor decorative pond with Japanese Koi carps was gracefully integrated.
